“Your emotions are not a problem to be fixed. Your emotions are feedback. They allow you to recognize your needs and how you are doing. Therapy helps you tune into your emotions instead of tuning them out.”
My philosophy is that counseling is a collaborative effort between client and counselor and that goals can be reached together. I strive to provide a warm and welcoming environment that provides you with the grace and space needed to process life's most difficult challenges. I make every effort to provide this type of space for each client by building a solid therapeutic relationship. I achieve this type of environment and relationship through the utilization of various methods such as Adlerian, Person-Centered, Somatic, Emotional-Focused, and Mindfulness-Based techniques. I focus on the treatment of life transitions, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, and religious trauma. I have a special rapport with college-aged, LGBTQIA+, and child-free-by-choice adults, but I have experience with a variety of individuals from adolescence through adulthood. My counseling approach is a personally tailored, holistic approach, taking into account the many unique aspects and experiences of each of my clients. My hope is that every client may begin to make sense of their life and show up as authentically as possible.
